BEGA The Hub of the Sapphire Coast
Many visitors enjoy the beautiful beaches in the cooler months as well and some of the activities accessible from Bega are even more enjoyable outside the summer heat. Bushwalking, horseriding, fishing, golf or visits to the nearby towns and villages (such as Candelo, Kameruka, Bemboka and Wolumla) are pastimes that are enjoyable throughout the year.In winter of course, Bega's proximity to the Snowy Mountains encourages a regular weekend exodus to the skifields. In Spring, there are times when the warm spring sunshine on the coast is enough to tempt a surfer in the morning and 2 1/2 hours later, Spring skiing can still be enjoyed.  Festivals, rodeos and carnivals through the year provide many additional highlights for the visitor. A range of accommodation is available in and around Bega including motels catering to all tastes and budgets, caravan parks, camping areas and homes and units for lease.
