Beaches

The beautiful beaches at Tabourie Lake, where the lake meets the sea are only a few minutes' walk from the resort, while many other magnificent, secluded beaches of the region are within a few minutes' drive. For surfing, swimming and snorkelling in the warmer months (November to May) and for long, introspective and exhiliarating walks in the cooler months (May - October), our beaches are among the best in the state. Forests & Wilderness

Pigeon House & flowers The Clyde Coast hinterland is a nationally recognised natural treasure. The Clyde River catchment comprises almost exclusively National Parks and State Forests - the rugged sources in the Budawang Ranges containing spectacular mountains such as Pigeon House Mountain (named for its distinctive shape by Lieut James Cook during his voyage of discovery in 1770), The Castle and Shrouded Gods Mountain.

You can reach these regions after a short drive from the resort. A popular excursion is to drive to the carpark at Pigeon House Mountain (about ½ hours' drive) and to climb to the summit (about 2 hours moderate climb) for spectacular views over the coast and the Eastern Escarpment.

We can arrange Minibus Tours to the less accessible and more remote areas, where your guide's local knowledge will provide the most rewarding views and scenic walks.

Artists & Galleries in the Region

In addition to our magnificent natural attractions, the Clyde Coast region is exceptionally rich in its creative arts community. Many well known local artists have galleries and studios in the Bawley Point region (only a short drive south from the resort). Take this jump for an illustrated brochure of the Bawley Point "Art Trail".

Other galleries are only a short distance from the Tabourie Lake Resort. You should not miss the Forest Gallery at Benandarah (about 15 mins south), one of the finest galleries on the South Coast.
