Many much smaller industries also operate here. .

Fishing

Ulladulla is famous in this region for its picturesque harbour and fishing fleet. Many licensed fishing boats belong to the local fishermen's cooperative.

Ulladulla Harbour, which is in the centre of town, is flanked by retail and food outlets. Enjoy fish and chips fresh from the day's catch. A small beach with adjacent grasslands and picnic tables, an ocean water swimming pool and a boat ramp can also be found along the harbour foreshores.

Stroll along the breakwater for a birdseye view of the activity around the fishing boats. Here you'll also see the co-op's packing and exporting facilities. Regular catches include bream, flathead tailor and snapper as well as prawns (shrimp) and lobster.

Many local restaurants offer special dishes prepared with our fresh seafoods.

Forestry

The timber industry is one of the oldest in the region. However today there are only a few local sawmills. Timber is logged from state forests and these days taken elsewhere for processing.

The forestry department currently controls vast areas of eucalypt forests around in the region. Most of these are very attractive and some have pockets of old growth forests where the more majestic older trees tower over you and reflect the true beauty of a forest.

If you wish to experience the true grandeur of the pristine native forests of the region with their characteristic diversity of plant and animal life, our National Parks are also close by.

Farming

Pastoral activity was one of the earliest in this region, at one time the region producing a significant amount of the fresh food for the Sydney market. While this has now diminished, there is still a flourishing industry in specialised produce.

Our present farming activities include dairy and beef cattle, market gardens, cattle studs, fruit, flowers, worms and others.

Other Industry

Many other smaller industries can be found in this region. There is some small scale manufacturing and a full range of trade services.

Service industries in the town (refer Coastal Resort Services) are also well represented.
