The Seasons

Mimosa Hill offers different attractions throughout the year according to the seasons. The following summarises the main attractions during each of these.

Summer (December - February):
This is the beach season. In January, accommodation can be scarce when Aussie families have their holidays at the beach. Mimosa Hill is only 5 minutes from the beautiful beaches in the Bawley Point area. With the other activities enjoyed only minutes from Mimosa Hill, it provides an ideal base for a holiday with a variety of pursuits.

Autumn (March - May):
Many locals consider Autumn our best season. Sea temperatures are still high and swimming is usually great until May or June. Autumn brings lower temperatures and often some rain to freshen up the forests for bushwalking, trekking, canoeing and biking - which are best at this time.
Proteas in bloom in late Autumn at Mimosa Hill.

Winter (June - August):
Our winters are mild by most comparisons, but temperatures do drop to mild frost levels overnight and it is the ideal time to light up the pot belly fire and to relax in your country cabin after a day of sightseeing and bushwalking in the forests or visiting the local high quality art galleries. Wildflowers in bloom in early Spring (late Winter for many of our wattles).

Spring (September - November):
Getting warmer; weather sometimes changeable; Spring evening showers. Good season for bushwalking and camping. The hardier are starting to try the surf.
