South Coast
Canberra- Australia's Capital

Canberra is a modern, attractive city built according to the plan of the famous American architect Walter Burley Griffin. The city enjoys wide avenues, open parklands and facilities and services befitting its status as Australia's capital city.

The central area of Canberra, including the "Parliamentary Triangle" is designed to take advantage of views over and proximity to Lake Burley Griffin, created as part of the architect's vision.

The visitor will find much to do in Canberra with its fine galleries (including the National Gallery of Australia), magnificent public buildings (including the $1billion Parliament House) and the variety of architecture displayed in the various "embassy rows" in the city.

Located four hours south west from Sydney and two hours drive from Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast, Canberra is also an ideal place to add to the variety of a visit to the natural splendour of the South Coast Region.
